The Smiley Monroe world tour goes on!

Author: Aimee McCracken

With almost three years without exhibitions, the Smiley Monroe show is well and truly back on the road this year with four shows in the calendar.

In early May, Marketing Director Tim Monroe and Head of Production, Chris Jones headed to Bangalore to join the SM India team at ExCon. The torrential rain and flooding throughout the week wasn’t enough to dampen spirits and visitors flocked to the custom-built Smiley Monroe stand.  It was a successful show with exciting prospects and  new business opportunities in the region.

After a quick turnaround at our Northern Ireland HQ it was back on the road, this time to IFAT, Munich. A new show for us, IFAT focus on the recycling and waste management sectors – a growing industry and sector for our business. It was exciting to hear such positivity in the industry and it was a worthwhile trip to visit customers new and old. As always, the Messe München put on a fabulous show and the hospitality on the Bavarian night at the infamous Hofbräuhaus was enjoyed by all!

Closer to home, the team was excited to get back to our ‘local’ show at Hillhead, Buxton, UK. The sun shone on the quarry and our bespoke shipping containers provided a welcome resting spot for our customers and friends in the middle of the heatwave. Even the minor issue of a broken fridge, didn’t deter visitors and the selection of local Northern Ireland beverages, were appreciated (even when a little lukewarm)!  New business enquiries and sales after the show have been extremely positive as was the customer feedback on both our high level of service and our product. Something to be proud of for sure.

As the summer draws to a close, we now look forward to Bauma in October, back at the Messe München. As the leading world trade fair for our industry, Bauma is always incredibly important for generating business and nurturing relationships both with our European customers and beyond.
