Curtiz joined the Smiley Monroe team in 2021 as a Production Operative in the Belts Department. Curtiz showed his dedication, strong work ethic, and keen attention to detail from the start of his career with us.
In 2023, Curtiz seized an exciting internal opportunity that allowed him to relocate to the United States to work in our factory in Kentucky. This move demonstrated Curtiz' adaptability and ambition to grow within the company. His contributions quickly made him a key member of the team in Kentucky, where he continued to excel in his role. While some might find making the move to the US on their own daunting, Curtiz has taken it all in his stride and made some great friendships along the way.
Recognising his exceptional performance and potential, Curtiz was promoted to Despatch Co-Ordinator in 2024. In this position, he works closely with both the Production and Sales teams to ensure that orders are produced efficiently and delivered on time. Curtiz' ability to coordinate between departments and his commitment to maintaining high standards have been instrumental in streamlining operations and enhancing customer satisfaction.
We asked Curtiz what he enjoys most about his role:
“Having worked through most stages of production, my role now allows me to enjoy teaching others the processes involved in manufacturing belts and see their progression in the workplace.”
We asked Curtiz what his favourite benefit is:
“Travelling is one of my main hobbies and the benefit of working a four-day week allows me to travel more at the weekends. Coupled with having the opportunity to relocate to the United States gives me an advantage in checking off those bucket list places.”
We asked Curtiz what makes him proud to work for Smiley Monroe:
“Working for a company that rewards hard work and effort and seeing not only my own situation but also in co-workers being rewarded with new opportunities for their hard work, makes me proud to work for Smiley Monroe.”
We asked Curtiz what his favourite engagement event has been:
“My favorite engagement event must be the trip to Tayto Park, spending the day there was a lot of fun and being able to bring my family made the day even better.”
We asked Curtiz if he could trade places with any other person for a week, famous or not famous, living or dead, real or fictional, who would he choose:
“I would trade places with film director Christopher Nolan to get an insight into how he envisions creating films and I'd get to work on a film set.”
