Introducing Zip Clip® the mechanically fastened replacement conveyor belt. Easy, quick and safe to fit, Zip Clip® acts as an insurance policy in the event of a breakdown – removing the need for a
vulcanising team and getting your conveyor back up and running immediately.
SAVE COSTLY DOWNTIME
Example: Limestone quarry producing 1600 tonnes of material per day. On this site a breakdown can often mean two days of machine downtime whilst waiting on a vulcanising crew and replacement conveyor belt. This downtime equates to a loss of $31,582. Having a Zip Clip® belt in stock to replace your most critical conveyor could have you back up and running up to 6 hours faster*.
Once fitted & tensioned, a Zip Clip® belt can be run immediately.
Choosing a conveyor belt depends on your machine, your application and what type of materials the conveyor will handling. We’ve almost 40 years of expertise under our belts, so give our technical sales team a call to discuss your best option.

This will depend on your application, the material the conveyor is handling. For example inclined conveyors will often require higher cleats or chevrons to prevent material rollback and siderails to prevent spillage. We’ve a range of standard patterns to choose from and our technical sales team will be happy to discuss the best solution for you. We can also help design a custom pattern which could work for your application.

Belt tracking or belt misalignment is a common conveyor problem and could be caused by a number factors such as a crooked frame, roller issues, material build up and damage to wear rubber in spillage control areas.
To help prevent tracking issues, we recommend the Glide Tracker Roller and the King Roller. Glide tracker acts as a guide roller to keep your conveyor belt running straight and the polymer King Roller prevents a build up of materials which can damage your belt or cause misalignment.
You can read more about them on our product pages or download a datasheet from our toolkit here.
Conveyor belts have a shelf life, whether they are stored as a roll or on a machine, so its important to store them correctly.
Rotating your stock to ensure that the oldest conveyor belts are used first and those with the most recent date of manufacture are stored for later use.
The SM quality ID number stamped on every belt will help you – these are in numerical order so the lowest number will be the oldest belt and the highest number the newest. Always store a conveyor belt roll on its end in an upright position to prevent deformation and coning problems when unrolled.
Conveyor belts already fitted to mobile plant can become severely compressed whilst the machine is held in the transport position for long periods; this can lead to surface crazing which can form around areas of highly stressed rubber. It is best practice to store the conveyor in an open position and rotate the belt monthly to avoid damage.
More information on best practices for conveyor belt storage and stock rotation is available in our Conveyor Belt Handbook, available to download in our Toolkit.
All belts are covered by a 12month warranty from date of dispatch. Before the conveyor belt leaves Smiley Monroe HQ, it is quality checked and stamped with our unique quality ID number. This ensures full traceability in the event of a problem and allows the customer to manage stock levels and rotations.
An endless conveyor belt is a belt supplied to you hot spliced and ready-to-fit in a continuous loop. The belts can be fitted to a machine without the need for a splice or vulcanising team on site, maximising uptime. The splice, hot vulcanised under factory conditions is subject to a 12 month warranty period.
We work closely with our customer’s, production teams and dispatch partners to ensure on time delivery every time. Our customer service teams will keep in close contact with you about expected delivery dates and schedules.
Yes, we export to 50 countries in every continent except Antarctica. Since 2018, we’ve had feet on the ground in North America to be closer to our customers in the region.

Damp, sticky materials or humid conditions can cause conveyor issues thanks to a build of material on the belt or the rollers. Steel rollers are prone to material build up and corrosion caused by moisture in the environment. Corroded rollers seize and stop turning causing the belt to wear into the roller face resulting in sharp edges and can cause damage to the belt and downtime of a machine. King Roller, is a polymer alternative to steel which is up to 14% more power efficient, the triple labyrinth seal prevents moisture and materials getting into the bearings to prevent bearings seizing. The Polymer material used in King Roller will not corrode. We also recommend installing a Cover Clean belt cleaner to your conveyor – this does as it says on the tin – removes material from your conveyor to protect the rollers.
