About the role

Supporting the Finance Department, Finance Manager, and Senior Leadership Team by completing assigned accounting and reporting tasks to agreed deadlines.  Providing management and support to assigned team members.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with preparation and review of monthly management accounts within set reporting timelines (to include journal entry, account reconciliation and financial analysis).
  • Assist with preparation of annual audit and provide timely resolutions of any queries raised.
  • Assist with the annual budgeting process.
  • Manage the invoice financing process.
  • Assist with the day-to-day cash management processes (including daily currency management).
  • Complete AR and AP sub-ledger month end process and reconciliation to General Ledger.
  • Ensure the Monthly Payroll is processed timely and accurately.
  • Preparation of VAT and PAYE returns to statutory deadlines (including related reconciliations).
  • Preparation of EC Sales and Intrastat returns to statutory deadlines.
  • Monthly review of department performance against budgets and investigation of any key variances.
  • Assist with developing and monitoring SOPs, internal controls and KPI’s.
  • Prepare and file claims to Invest NI.
  • Provide a high level of service to both internal and external customers and stakeholders.
  • Provide coaching and support to other team members.

Essential

  • Be a qualified Accounting Technician or part qualified Accountant (ACA, CIMA, or ACCA) or have a minimum of 3 years’ relevant work experience.
  • Have a strong working knowledge of MS Excel.
  • Have good organisational and communication skills.
  • Be able to demonstrate problem-solving ability.
  • Able to work on their own and maintaining a high level of accuracy.
  • Able to work to strict deadlines, prioritising and planning workload.

Desireable

  • Previous experience of processing payroll.
  • Working knowledge of ERP system, preferably Epicor.
  • Have experience working in a manufacturing environment.
