About the Role

The Operations Co-Ordinator plays a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth and efficient running of day-to-day manufacturing operations. Working closely with the Operations Manager and Production Team Leader, the postholder will be responsible for coordinating a range of administrative, logistical, and support activities critical to production planning, execution, and continuous improvement. The ideal candidate will be highly organised, proactive, and able to manage multiple priorities across departments, including production, supply chain, sales, and logistics.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate with the Supply Chain and Sales teams to schedule customer orders through production in line with capacity and material availability.
  • Manage despatch documentation and coordinate transportation for outbound deliveries, ensuring timely and accurate shipments to customers.
  • Maintain and update the start-of-shift board with relevant daily production information, job priorities, KPIs, and any issues affecting the shift.
  • Collate, analyze, and report on production performance data, including operator efficiency, machine utilisation, downtime, and scrap rates.
  • Conduct regular cycle counts, ensure accurate system transactions for goods receipt and stock movements, and liaise with the Goods In Co-Ordinator to investigate discrepancies.
  • Assist in coordinating and documenting continuous improvement initiatives, including supporting root cause investigations and corrective actions.
  • Provide day-to-day administrative support to the Operations team, including maintaining production documentation, SOPs, and compliance records.
  • Assist in the preparation and support of internal and external audits by ensuring documentation and processes are up to date and audit-ready.
  • Support the Operations Manager and Team Leader in promoting a safe working environment and ensuring adherence to safety and quality procedures and work instructions.

Essential

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience working in a production or operations support role.
  • Comfortable working with production data and performance metrics.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Clear and effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Able to prioritise tasks effectively and manage multiple responsibilities concurrently.
  • Creative thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated interest in innovation and commitment to continuous improvement initiatives.
  • A proactive and collaborative approach to work.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office Software including Excel, Outlook and Word.

Desireable

  • Experience using ERP software.
