April 7th-13th marked the 34th edition of Bauma in Munich - the world’s leading trade fair for construction machinery, building material machines, construction vehicles and construction equipment.
An estimated 600,000 visitors came through the doors of Messe München over the course of the week-long trade fair. With 414,000 square meters of outdoor space and 200,000 square meters of hall space, there was so much to see, from live machinery demonstrations to stand tours, and let’s not forget the staple of any good trade show - branded merch galore!
For the Smiley Monroe team, Bauma is an absolute highlight in the trade show calendar. Some of our trade show veterans in the team counted the 2025 edition as their 3rd, 4th and for some diehards even 5th return to Munich for the triennial industry get-together.
For myself though, it was my first visit to Bauma, and I was blown away by the sheer scale of the Messe München exhibition centre. Our team were averaging around 20,000 steps a day and we still didn’t get across the entire exhibition site! Not a show for the faint hearted!
Being among the 3,600 exhibitors from over 57 countries, we were proud to be showcasing our market-leading conveyor belt products on a truly international stage. On stand we had a focus on our ZIP CLIP® hero product in addition to ToughFlex, Glidetracker and conveyor components designed to maximize conveyor lifespan. Being among our customers and industry partners, we were also lucky enough to see our belts displayed on machinery such as crushers and screeners across the Bauma site.
The team were delighted to hear positive feedback about our famous service levels. During the duration of the show we had an overall feeling of positivity in the industry despite an ever-changing landscape. We remain close to our customers and they continue to be impressed by our global supply options.
It was also fantastic to see such a great representation of Northern Ireland evident at Bauma, with plenty of familiar brands to be found exhibiting throughout the site in great spirit. This was no surprise considering over 40% of the world’s tracked mobile crushing and screening equipment is manufactured in Northern Ireland!
While the show itself ran for a week, our preparations began as far back as March 2024. Working alongside a roster of amazing suppliers who supported with design, stand build, print, merchandise, catering, logistics and all the other moving parts that come together to make a trade show happen, the end result was a week that we’ll remember fondly for years to come!
Thank you to our customers, partners and new faces who called by our stand and made the show worthwhile. Until 2028, Bauma – Auf Wiedersehen!
